Check out interactive activities for all ages!Step back in time at Sylvan Lake’s 1913 Days for tons of family fun and adventure. The town of Sylvan Lake was founded in June of 1913 and the community has been celebrating ever since.
Get out and play, take part in the Mystery Towns Scavenger Hunt, try a horse-drawn wagon ride, or watch a movie under the stars. There’s something for everyone at Sylvan Lake’s 1913 Days, June 8 to June 11, 2023.
Sylvan Lake transforms into an old-time family fun zone for 1913 Days – showcasing community spirit in a lake town. The festival features a wide variety of activities from the Farmer’s Market to the highly anticipated 1913 Days Parade. Other highlights include the Varsity Hall Dance, Fire Hall Pancake Breakfast, Soap Box Derby and more.
Sylvan Lake Farmer’s Market
Shop and support local! Stop by the Farmers’ Market for local foods, crafts and treats. You’ll find the best fresh Alberta and BC fruits, veggies, meats, frozen foods, cheese, wine beer, coffee, crafts and much more.
Find it: Lakefront Park at Lakeshore Drive and 51 street, Fridays from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Varsity Hall Dinner and Dance
Sylvan Lake's Varsity Hall dance palace was an icon of the beachfront for 50 years! Consider yourself invited to a very special dinner cruise aboard the S.S. Sylvan – The Love Boat, hosted at the Seniors Centre in the NexSource Centre. Enjoy a light meal, take in the live performance, and get up and dance!
Movie in the Park
There’s something extra special about feeling the grass under your toes while watching one of your favourite movies light up the night.
Watch The Little Rascals under the stars in Centennial Park. The event kicks off with bouncy castles and yard games from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The movie starts at 9:30 p.m.

Bring your appetite to the Sylvan Lake Fire Department’s annual pancake breakfast on Saturday from 7am to 11am. Many of the department’s trucks will be on display so kids can get a chance to jump into the driver’s seat for a firefighter’s perspective. By cash donation.

The 1913 Days “Under the Big Top” parade is sure to delight kids and adults alike on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The parade starts at 43 street, travels west down 47 Avenue, turns north on 50 Street, and heads east at Lakeshore Drive, ending at 44 Street.
Family Disco Dance Party
Dust off your favourite bell bottoms and get in touch with your inner Disco Diva at the Nexsource Centre from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Get ready for groovy tunes, retro arcade games and snap a pic at the photo booth.

Soap Box Derby
Calling all racers! It’s your chance to prove your car is the fastest in town on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Check out the 1913 Days Soap Box Derby where you can design your own soapbox car and race down the track against other members of the community. The cost is $5 per rider. You can try an available soapbox or see how to build your own.

Nothing puts you back in time like an old-fashioned car show.
Featuring vehicles from the 30's through to the 90's, this show n' shine is every car lover's dream! Stroll the line up and share in the joy and pride of other car enthusiasts. Presented by Sylvan Lake Cruise Nights.
