2023's JAWS at the Lake event will be screening the 2016 film, The Shallows:
Still reeling from the loss of her mother, medical student Nancy Adams (Blake Lively) travels to a secluded beach for some much-needed solace. Despite the danger of surfing alone, Nancy decides to soak up the sun and hit the waves. Suddenly, a great white shark attacks, forcing her to swim to a giant rock for safety. Left injured and stranded 200 yards from shore, the frightened young woman must fight for her life as the deadly predator circles her in its feeding ground.
The Shallows is 1 hour and 27 minutes in length and is rated PG-13
This event is free and is recommended for those 14+.
A double-sided outdoor movie screen brings the big screen to the lakefront!
Bring your floatie and watch from the water. Lifejackets are recommended for younger or weaker swimmers. Children must be supervised at all times.
Landlubbers can bring lawn chairs and watch from the grass in Lakefront Park!
Weather will cool off after dark and wearing warm layers is recommended.
Barbecue and concession snacks will be available for purchase onsite provided by Central Alberta Pride Society starting at 7pm.
Guests are also welcome to bring their own food and beverage options.
Alcohol is not permitted at the event.

Lifeguards and first aid will be present onsite.
Smoking and alcohol are not permitted in Sylvan Lake public parks and are not permitted at this event.
JAWS at the Lake is free to attend. Ticket purchase is not required. Doors open at 7pm, movie starts at sunset at about 9:30pm.
Event takes place in the grass at Lakefront Park, located at Lakeshore Drive and 52 Street.
