Take a spin on Sylvan Lake’s only go-kart track and try not to smile. You must be at least 4’4” to get behind the wheel but younger guests can sit alongside a grown-up in one of the double seat go-karts. Dare your friends for a fun day out, go for a teambuilding activity with colleagues, or take your family members for a spin. An afternoon of go-karting is great for all occasions.
“People looking for a thrill can get the go-karts going pretty fast. We get everyone from two-year-old’s to 92-year old’s in the go-karts,” Tim said.
For pint-sized drivers, Lakeside Go-Karts and Mini Golf offers electric kiddie cars. It’s every kid’s dream to drive their own vehicle. Your child will love drifting around a mini track at the top speed of 2.5 mph. It’s a safe and fun experience for toddlers and parents alike.
It’s impossible not to giggle while bumping and spinning on a bumper car. The rules of the road don’t exist at the bumper car zone where smashing into friends and family is encouraged. But don’t forget to buckle up.
“Our facility backs onto the lake with a great view of the lighthouse. It’s a perfect spot for a family photo or an action shot as the go-karts fly around the track,” said Melody Ellerby, co-owner.
For a slower pace, head to the mini golf course and play 18-holes on a smaller scale. Lakeside’s beautiful course provides challenges for novice and experienced mini golfers. Clubs and balls are provided while tricky turns, curves and obstacles keep golfers engaged.
“We have some unique holes and we’ve heard guests say it’s one of the most challenging and fun courses in Alberta,” Melody said. “We have some guests that play the course year after year.”
Lakeside Go-Karts and Mini Golf also offers light snacks and drinks such as slushies, chips, chocolate bars and candy. Friendly staff is on-hand to help you with everything from that tricky golf shot to tips on winning that next go-kart race.
