There are three golf courses right in Sylvan Lake and more than two-dozen courses within about an hour’s drive of town. Whether you want to enjoy a casual round after a morning at the beach or you really want to put your skills to the test, you’ll find a course to suit your needs.
Lakewood Golf Resort
Lakewood Golf Resort is a well-treed course that is picturesque and player friendly. Located on the east side of Sylvan Lake, this 9-hole par 36 course is one of Alberta’s hidden gems. With three sets of tees and some well-placed water hazards and sand bunkers, it offers experienced golfers a challenge without overwhelming beginners. There’s an onsite golf shop with a golf pro on staff and a clubhouse with a restaurant. There’s also an onsite driving range and a practice green. There are three RV Parks adjacent to the course. Plans to expand the golf course and the RV parks are underway.
Sylvan Lake Golf and Country Club
This 18-hole par 72 semi-private course offers nice views from its well-groomed fairways and greens. Sylvan Lake Golf and Country Club has an onsite driving range and practice green as well as a clubhouse with a pro shop and a full-service restaurant. The restaurant’s outdoor patio overlooks the course and is a great place to relax with a cool drink after a round. There’s also an onsite RV campground that can be booked daily, monthly or for the entire golf season.
Meadowlands Golf Club
Established in 1992, Meadowlands Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 72 public course that is known for its open fairways and challenging greens. Water and sand hazards make this course exciting for seasoned players, but three sets of tees keep it playable for beginners. There’s a driving range, a practice green and a well-stocked pro shop. The clubhouse has a spacious lounge area with a full-service bar and restaurant. There’s also an onsite RV park that can be booked nightly, weekly, and seasonally.

Make Sylvan Lake your home base and go explore. In addition to the Sylvan Lake golf courses, there are more than two dozen courses within about an hour’s drive of town. If you want a real challenge, play a round at Wolf Creek Golf Course, one of the best links-style courses in Alberta, just 50 kilometres northeast of Sylvan Lake. If you love testing your accuracy over water hazards, Riverbend Golf Course is a good bet, just 30 kilometres east of town. Golf the longest hole in Canada, a 782-yard, par 6 hole on the back nine at The Nursery Golf and Country Club, 50 kilometres northeast of Sylvan Lake. Whatever your golfing level, there’s a golf course that will suit your needs near Sylvan Lake.
