Sylvan Lake Boardwalk – a flat, easy trail that runs along the water. It’s the perfect place to take in the sunset or sunrise!
CP Trail – An urban escape where much of the trail is covered with a canopy of trees connecting parks and playgrounds.
Jarvis Bay Provincial Park – Just five minutes out of town, a hike at Jarvis Bay Provincial Park feels like another world. Overlooking the lake, wooded trails throughout the park give you picture-perfect views on the cliffs along the lake!

A little different than an egg hunt… Did you know that Sylvan Lake offers several geocache options? Pick your adventure with hunts ranging from traditional caches to earth caches, that teach you about the local geology and environment.
Simply put, geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location

Spring Break Inside
For those cooler Spring days, Sylvan Lake has many indoor activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Sylvan Lake’s Drop N Hop Café is a top pick for families, especially for those kids 6 and under, offering a fun indoor space. There is something for everyone from fun interactive golf zones to play spaces. The playground structure is designed for children ages 3 to 12 and parents are invited to play too. This larger playground has 2-tube slides, cave peaks, obstacle course and a ball pit!
Did you know Sylvan Lake is home to Woodshed Axe Throwing? A state-of-the-art axe throwing facility! Small hand axes are thrown at digital targets and real end grain wood. As Central Alberta’s original axe throwing facility, the Woodshed offers eight lanes of axe throwing for a unique experience for anyone ages 10 and up.
If you want to burn off steam Incline Industries is a youth drop-in Indoor Skatepark that is open for skateboarding and scootering! Open year round, this indoor skate park is the perfect place for kids to hang out and try the latest tricks in partnership with Central Alberta Youth Unlimited. The best part for parents? Timber Coffee Co. is under the same roof and serves a variety of hot drinks and snacks! Win win!
