As the days grow longer and the ice melts on the lake, there’s no better time to explore Sylvan Lake’s abundance of walking trails. Grab your favourite hot drink and challenge your friends and family to beat your daily step goal! A little friendly competition helps everyone get outside and enjoy these spring days.
Sylvan Lake trails and walking routes are generally stroller friendly. On one of many sunny days, you’ll find everyone from toddlers to seniors enjoying Sylvan Lake’s mellow routes. Walkers will find a combination of paved and gravel trails through open fields, woods, and along the beach.
Sylvan Lake has over 25-kilometres of trails connecting amazing parks, the vibrant downtown and the famous lakefront. There are so many trails to choose from.
Insider Tip: A favourite among locals and visitors alike is the trail running alongside Sylvan’s newer neighbourhood – 60 West. Enter this wooded wonderland at 60th Street or Songbird Green, or stop at the playground on Sweetgrass Place first, then link up to the trail.

Insider Tip: Explore surrounding areas of Sylvan Lake for some calmer and quieter spots to drift off as the lake traffic heats up. Look out for and avoid private properties, but there are several goat trails that wander down to secluded public shores just off the hub of Lakeshore Drive.
