If you’re in the mood for a high-octane, water-based activity, Sylvan Lake Aqua Splash has you covered.  The inflatable floating waterpark is the perfect spot to bounce and splash your way to an afternoon of fun.

Alberta’s first-ever inflatable water park features about 130 exciting elements including a climbing tower, monkey swing bars, a 15-foot tower, wiggle bridge, swings, a trampoline, huge launch bag and more. It’s a gigantic floating fortress big enough for the whole family to enjoy.

“We are very excited to be adding some more challenging features to our waterpark to keep it new and exciting for our customers,” said park owner and operator Charlie Everest.

An Inflatable Fortress of Fun!

Swimming abilities are required, and the point is to slip and slide through the various waterpark features. Safety is a top priority with certified lifeguards on duty and life jackets for every participant. Aqua Splashers need to be at least six years old and more than three-foot-six inches in height.

“It’s a fun and safe activity. If your kids are over the age of nine, mom and dad can set up their picnic and watch the fun from shore,” Everest said. “Of course, parents can join the action too.”

First opened in 2016, Sylvan Lake Aqua Splash was the brainchild of Everest. After working for many years in the community, he wanted to add to Sylvan Lake’s offerings for tourists and families. An inflatable fortress of fun served as a great addition to lake life.

With a capacity of about 140 people, Aqua Splash is a great location for birthday parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties, team building initiatives or just a fun day out with family and friends. It’s also a great spot to get a workout. Expect to be happily exhausted after one hours play. However half day and full day passes are available for particularly energetic customers.

“I love watching the smiles on the kids’ faces while they scream and bounce around. It’s good wholesome family fun,” Everest said. “Ninety-nine per cent of people leave Aqua Splash laughing uncontrollably and talking about how much fun it was.”

Every summer the park is blown up and anchored about 150 feet from the shoreline, connected by a floating walkway. The Aqua Splash covers about an acre of the lake and welcomes over 30,000 visitors a season.

The waterpark operates from the end of June to early September, weather depending. Aqua Splash is expected to open to school groups for its preseason at the end of June, before officially launching for the summer in early July.

Weather permitting, the park will be open every day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the last admissions at 7 p.m. Located next to Lakefront Park right beside the lighthouse, Aqua Splash is hard to miss. There may be adjustments to hours with cool temperatures or a summer storm. Visitors are advised to check the Aqua Splash Facebook page or call ahead for any updates.

“We love being in Sylvan Lake. We had a two-year hiatus during covid but when we opened again, the community came back really strong and we had an amazing summer,” Everest said.
