A Place That Feels Like Home
Few places capture the warmth of community like Sweet Home on the Lake. Perched on the shores of Sylvan Lake, this inviting two-story space combines a café, bakery, ladies’ boutique, kids’ clothing, and a farmstead grocery market, making it a must-visit destination for locals and travelers alike.
“We’re so fortunate with our location, which has unreal views from our patios overlooking the lake,” says co-owner Cody Borek. “We take a lot of pride in how we present the store.”
Sip, Shop, and Soak Up the View
Located on Lakeshore Drive, Sweet Home offers two cozy balconies where you can enjoy:
- Locally roasted espresso
- Handcrafted specialty drinks
- Fresh baked goods
After your coffee break, browse the boutique for women’s fashion (sizes XS to plus, plus maternity), locally made artisan items, and Canadian-sourced products from soaps and jewelry to gourmet pantry staples.
From Cupcakes to Community
What began in 2011 as a small cupcake shop in Stettler has grown into a beloved Alberta brand. In 2019, Sweet Home expanded into clothing and lifestyle, eventually opening Sweet Home on the Lake during the pandemic – a bold move that paid off. Today, the 6,000-square-foot space is a bustling hub of activity.
“Our mission is to be a place of joy, peace, and freedom,” Cody shares. “We want everyone to feel welcome – kids included.”
A Gathering Place for All
Sweet Home isn’t just a store – it’s a community hub. From hosting events and donating to local causes to cheering on other businesses on social media, owners Cody and Eva Borek are passionate about giving back.
Whether you’re relaxing on the balcony with a latte and a good book or shopping for unique gifts, Sweet Home offers an experience that keeps visitors coming back. One guest even described it as “my Disneyland.”
