A Serendipitous Start
“We fell in love with Sylvan Lake—it’s such a cool little tourist town,” says co-owner Bee Webber. “We came out for a coffee, found our current location, which happened to be for sale, and shortly after, it was ours. Moving here was serendipitous.”
Since opening in July 2022, The B Nest has become a community hub for locals and visitors alike. The studio showcases a curated selection of goods, including pieces from talented local artists and makers.
“We look for artists that carry the same kind of energy we value,” Bee explains. “For example, we have a girl from Bentley who creates exquisite wild-crafted products. She grows all her own plants and makes all her own essential oils.”
From Book to Boutique
The B Nest’s story began with an award-winning children’s book:
“What Bee Will You Bee?”—a collaboration between Bee and her partner, co-owner Tad Ames, who illustrates all their work.
“It was a bit of an accident,” Bee laughs. “I joked that Tad should learn to paint for the book, and it sparked a new path for us.”
That book inspired a creative space filled with jaw-dropping art pieces. Tad’s artwork now adorns the shop, and commission requests have started pouring in.
“People come for the art, and next thing we know, they’re calling to commission custom work. The B Nest is reaching beyond the borders of these four little walls,” Bee says.
The studio also partners with charities like the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre (CACAC), raising awareness and supporting important local causes.

“As a florist, I get to be part of the big and small pieces of people’s lives—birthdays, engagements, weddings. You become a friend in those moments,” Bee shares.
Pre-ordering is easy, but Bee loves when customers come in and share stories about their special person.
“We design arrangements that fit their energy. If you have a vision, we’ll help bring it to life.”
