B Nest Floral Design & Studio
The B Nest Floral Design and Studio is one of those places where you feel welcome and grounded the moment you step through the door. One of the most unique stops in Sylvan Lake, this floral and gift shop greets you with small town service and big city style.
The B Nest Studios in downtown Sylvan Lake offers locally made fine art, children’s books, illustrated prose, and more.
“We fell in love with Sylvan Lake, it’s such a cool little tourist town,” said co-owner Bee Webber. “We came out for a coffee, found our current location, which happened to be for sale, and shortly after it was ours. Moving here was serendipitous.”
It all started with a little book that could
Since opening The B Nest Floral Design and Studio in July 2022, the store has become a hang out hub for locals and visitors alike. The studio features a curated selection of goods including pieces from local artists and artisans.
“We look for artists that carry the same kind of energy we value. For example, we have a girl from Bentley who creates exquisite wild-crafted products. She grows all her own plants and makes all her own essential oils.”
It all started with a little book that could: The B Nest Floral Design and Studio is home to an international indie award-winning book, “What Bee will you Bee?” The book was a collaboration between Webber and her partner co-owner Tad Ames who illustrates all their work.
“It was a bit of an accident. I joked that Tad should learn to paint for the book, and it sparked a new path for us,” Webber said.
The book has spilled into a creative space in the heart of Sylvan Lake filled with jaw-dropping art pieces. With Tad’s art displayed throughout the shop, commission requests started coming in from visitors and locals alike.
“People come for the art and next thing we know they are calling to commission custom work. So, The B Nest is reaching beyond the borders of these four little walls,” Webber said.
B Nest sparks joy through floral arrangements
The B Nest Studios also works with different charity groups such as the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre (CACAC) raising awareness of their important work in the region.
Along with sparking joy through art and partnership, The B Nest Floral Design and Studio spreads joy through the most unique floral arrangements in Central Alberta. Webber comes with 20 plus years of experience in the floral business and an eye for design. From wild garden bouquets to rustic arrangements, luxe wedding florals and so much more, you’ll find big city style delivered with small-town heart.
“We have so many regulars and it is a joy to get to know people in our community. As a florist, I get to be part of the big and small pieces of their lives through flowers. You become a friend in those situations like birthdays or engagements,” Webber said.
“Pre-ordering is great, and I also love it when people come down and tell us about their special person and what makes them unique. We try and design a floral arrangement that fits with that person’s energy. So, if there is something you want, we can help bring your vision to life,” Webber said.
The B Nest Studio part of Sylvan Lake's business fabric
The B Nest Floral and Design Studio is part of Sylvan Lake’s growing and supportive business community.
“We’ve been blown away by the support we’ve received by other businesses downtown. If we all succeed, Sylvan Lake becomes more attractive for people to come.”
